Using the  correct solutions is one of the most important aspects of successful scleral contact lens wear.  It is critical that solutions and a care regimen be tailored to each individual patient in order to optimize lens use.  Solutions can be broken down into 3 categories;  1.  Cleaning and Disinfectants    2.  Solutions used to fill the scleral lens with before application    3.  Artificial tears or rewetting drops.  Over the last few months, I have been mostly prescribing Clear Care for cleaning/disinfection and off-label use of 0.9% sodium chloride single dose vials to fill the scleral lens with before application.
